4 Different Fingerings For B Flat

How Many Ways Can You Play Middle and High Bb?

There are actually 4 different legitimate fingering positions for it.

Do you need to use them all in your playing?

Probably not, and for most of the time 2 will be enough for most playing situations. But they’re good to know for when you’re working on a pattern or trill off another note, if the Bb fingering you use is difficult or even impossible then it’s good to have a few other options that could make it easier for you to pull it off.

This lesson is taken from my new eBook course “How To Play The Saxophone – A Complete Beginner’s Guide” which cover the most important first lessons anyone starting to play must know but there are things there that intermediate players will learn from as well.

Also, if you’re interested in adding a few easy but classy and great well-known traditional and popular songs to your repertoire then you might want to check it out as well… play-along backing tracks, music and lesson go along with each of the 4 songs included. I’ve added, or will be adding examples of each song being played on alto or tenor or even both.
