Hey Johnny! Hope all is well. You deserve a good break! I haven’t been so active myself for a few months. Fixing up some medical issues. Should be OK shortly. Post a pic of your boat when you are finished with it.

April 4, 2024 at 4:47 pm #121351Love the Air Force hat SERGEANT SYLVESTRA!!!
Good job, the only thing it needs is an audio editing program (DAW). It would give you more control on the mix. I use the free download “Audacity”. It is available in windows or mac. I use a Apple mini mac. Awesome little computer and it has preloaded video editing software called Apple iMovie. That is what I use on all my videos. Audacity is easy to use and you don’t need to be an audio engineer to use it.
Enjoyed our email conversation about our air force years. Man,,,,,that was so long ago. I have vivid memories of my 4 years. Loved it. I should have done the full 20 and got a retirement at 39 years old.
Keep up the good saxophone work. I wish I had as much energy as you. I will keep you posted as I move along on the next song.

March 29, 2024 at 11:41 am #121250Very Very well done! Great job on that tune. Love the reverb level of the sax. Gives it a mellow “love Song” ambiance. It is obvious that you are an accomplished saxophonist. I will keep my eyes out for more of your recordings. What DAW are you using for your recordings. I use “AUDACITY” because it is free and I think it is a pretty good DAW. I have been using it on my recordings. I have gotten used to it for the purpose of my recordings. I can mix down to what I want without having to have a degree in audio engineering (lol). I’m using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface.
Where did you get the backing track? I have been looking for a backing track on some of Ace Cannon’s old songs,,,,particularly “Sitting Tight”.
I play Tenor Sax. Do not have any other saxophones. I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s and love Tenor Sax.Mike,,,,,thanks for the excellent recording.

March 14, 2024 at 2:45 pm #121014Hey Leo,,,,,,great find! I love the dueling saxes. I have always wanted to record something and then come back in and record harmony to myself in a video. I am thinking about it. Need to pick a song an go from there. It would be fun if you and I could collaborate and do a song together. If you were using a DAW (digital audio work station) we could send files back and forth and I could edit the video to have both of us in it. Just a thought.
Thanks for the video.

March 12, 2024 at 1:47 pm #120999Hey Mike! Love that fish you are holding. I love fishing.
By the way. Thanks to your post on this topic I have finally figured out what vintage Selmer BundyII I have. I went to the link you posted about your Signett. My is definitely a Morgan-Engineered Signet (Selmer BundyII). The link described exactly how you could determine if your sax is a Morgan-Engineered Signet. I meet all the categories.
I am basically pleased with the horn. I paid $200.00 for it a number of years ago. I originally owned a Selmer Super Action 80 in 1980 and after semi retiring from playing sax I sold it. Big Mistake!!! I know. But I ran across this BundyII from a friend of mine who told me about it. I went and checked it out and it played well. It was in excellent shape and had a Selmer C* jazz mouthpiece and a Selmer. It is built like a brick you know what. Made for School marching band and students that were hard on an instrument. I have been playing it now for about 3 years. Came out of hibernation on sax and am doing some recording at home. I have no complaint on the horn with the exception that hitting the lower D on demand. I think I need a new pad. I am going to bring it to our local shop in Baton Rouge and have it checked. Thanks for the link. It has helped me a lot.Wayne
March 12, 2024 at 8:05 am #120989Johnny has done yet another brilliant interpretation for sax of a great song! I am still in awe for his ability to interpret a vocal song in translation to an instrumental saxophone.
Leo,,,,I am pushing thru “honky tonk” and I think I will be able to start a first cut in about a week. I wish I could practice every day but “caretaker” responsibilities for my wife come first. I probably have spent about 6 hrs. on it so far. An hour or 2 here and there. Having played some of those phrases in bands in the past as adlib, I never sat down and worked out Bill Doggett’s original. Johnny’s sheet music put the perspective on finally seeing the entire tune. It’s really not going to be that hard to record. Of course knowing me,,,I will go thru 6 or 7 cuts before I am satisfied and have a clean cut. I do not make a cut and then attempt to edit portions of that cut. My approach has to be a complete cut. I do that because if I ever need to play the song for a party or band gig I need to know the song by memory.Keep up your work. You are doing great!

February 19, 2024 at 1:13 pm #120436Nice going Leo. You are a production machine! I should have something recorded and out within a few weeks. It is warming up here in Baton Rouge. I have been wanting to try a fibre reed for a while now. I will pick one up when I go to the music shop to get my sax checked. Can’t wait to get back into production myself.

January 18, 2024 at 4:13 pm #119790Leo,,,,,I declare. Every time I log in to one of your post you just sound better and better. Great job on the high notes. I sense an increase in your “Feeling”for the songs you are doing. Great Job! “My” tendency on this number would be to put a “minor” growl into some parts of the song,,,particularly the high notes,,,,,to give it even more feeling. But that is just me. You are doing wonderful!!! Keep up the good work. I am in a short hibernation at the moment due to cold weather. I do not have heat in my studio room. But down here in the south it normally does not get cold for extended periods. Last two nights were in the 20’s F

PS: by the way where do you live? I am in Baton Rouge, LA USA. Cajun Country,,,but I do not speak french at all. lol ! I am of French heritage from the migration of the arcadian French from Canada back in the day.
January 13, 2024 at 2:21 pm #119698It appears that you have resolved to the best approach for your situation. Sorry I was of no help there. I maybe wrong but I sense you are a seasoned musician. I give you a “Clap” for ignoring the space situation and using creative thinking to overcome the issue. That is determination! By todays standard a home setup is super advanced as to what it used to be.
Enjoyed forum chat with you. Let me know of any post you may have done on recordings. I am 77 yrs old and just recently blew the dust off of my sax in the closet and started playing again. I post my humble recordings on youtube. If you want to hear any of the 4 that I have posted just go to youtube and search WAYNE GALTIER. It will bring you directly to my videos. Just click on my icon pic and the songs will be listed.
Best to you,
Wayne
