You will pick up a lot of useful tips on this site and advice from other people.

Pete replied to the topic Fiberreed Carbon ONYX Reeds are awesome in the forum Reeds 5 years, 9 months ago
Wouldnt say it is a bright reed BC, it as a warm , richer sound IMO i think it would be your m/p opening giving you the brightness 10 tip !!wow!! This is the reason i use the Hemp instead of the carbon.

Pete replied to the topic To Bite or Not To Bite? in the forum Saxophone Lessons 5 years, 10 months ago
Spot on Michael, its a no brainer i cant believe anybody would think you should leave your top teeth off the mouthpiece.
basic rule! -
Pete replied to the topic To Bite or Not To Bite? in the forum Saxophone Lessons 5 years, 10 months ago
Agree with Johnny, top teeth firmly on the mouthpiece (anchored to it) that is why it is called a bite plate.

RR
Your top teeth are used as an ANCHOR” on the mouth piece, keep your bottom teeth away from the reed just you bottom lip
touching the reed ( like a cushion). -
