sxpoet – I used the versa lig for tenor for some time. It was a good ligature. Was amazed at the sound you got by putting a piece of reed in yours. I now have been playing the Vandoren Optimum Ligature for sometime. Now with Pete’s review on the Marc Jean 2 – I might have to try one in the future.

Johnny can definitely rock a sax!

sxpoet and jeff- you guys are doing great! Don’t tell yourself you sound like crap. It’s amazing the videos you are putting up. Right now I am working with my teacher going thru the Basic Jazz Conception For Saxophone by Lennie Neihauss. I always get dinged for not giving notes their full value and timing.

sxpet and jeff – you have been talking abut some good topics past couple weeks. Trying to catch up. I have been on the road doing my winter trek from Wisconsin {Frozen Tundra} to Florida.

sxpoet – good job on getting videos out. I need to try doing it one day. My instructor is always telling me to give notes their full value so I exactly understand what Johnny is saying. I like when he plays along with me. It really helps me.

Loved listening to the bands in New Orleans that played the clarinet and soprano saxophones. Really gave me an appreciation for that style of music. 🙂

Pete- Are you or did you get another saxophone? How did you like your Keilwerth? Some big names like that Black Nickel Keilwerth. Sorry couldn’t get to your picture.

Pete- I guess the SX90R has a separate rolled piece that fits on the hole.

There seems to be many opposing views of rolled tone holes. But the Keilwerth SX90R sure sounds nice. So does the P. Mauriat 66R

Clifford “King” Solomon played and toured with Brown on a few different occasions. I don’t know if that is him in the video.
