I can see where you’re coming from Brother Cavefish. So far this reed has worked well on my SYOS and my Otto Link Tonemaster. I feel I still get a warmer, darker, vintage jazz tone on the Link with the new reed still, but it is still slightly brighter than a cane reed. Also, I know some use an interface, a microphone, and then connect it to their PC and use a program such as Garage Band, which I have heard some pretty darn good recordings off of, and then upload the file that way. I definitely need to get my hands on one of these 10mFan Mouthpieces now. Sounds like a great product! I have always used Rovner ligatures, though I can not honestly tell much of a difference between the dark and light honestly. But, that could just be me. They work pretty good on most of my mouthpieces.

Thanks for the input, @brother-cavefish . That would make sense thinking about it. I’ll give the old cane reed a shot on it, get some that are a little more firmer than the equivalent to my Legere. I think that may help with the solution.

That indeed looks like a Conn alto for sure with the micro tuner! Great sound!
