Hi Leo, thanks, that makes much more sense. So we should probably play with a little staccato aggression then.

Hi Leo, do you know what Woke Up Clipped means?
I think it must be American slang as clipped in UK refers to a haircut.
I wonder if it means waking up in jail?

I’m practising the tune for alto, but getting everything right is tricky.
If anyone wants the alto version let me know.
        Cheers Jeff

Hi Leo, I also have a 2nd hand YTS-62 which is an older model. I took it out today to try my tune I’ve been working on for about three weeks. Trying to capture the tune from an MP3 with the correct notation was very difficult, but I eventually finished. Perhaps you would like to try it (recent No. 13 Post). It does sound good and the challenging part will be to make it sound just like Ben’s rendition. If I can do a half-decent performance I’ll post it here. The good thing about saxes is they tend to keep their value my YAS-26 has gone from R18000 to R32000 new. Buying gear is expensive I’ve already collected a drawer full of MP’s whilst looking for the ideal dark tone I wanted.

Hi Leo, very nicely played. One of my favourite tunes.
I must say my YAS62 sounds much better than the YAS26, but the YAS26 is easier to play.
There is much to be appreciated about the Pro saxes, but the problem is the much higher price.

Anyone want to try my Tenor version of Ben Webster’s Woke Up Clipped?

It won’t be perfect, but I’ve given it a good go. Cheers

                  Another good tune Leo.

I see how it’s done now. You can’t run out of air with your own air pump behind you – lol

Hi Leo, perhaps we should wait and see what happens after January 2025. I have a sneaky feeling that the paths are being prepared now, for the prosecution of the crimes, which have been taking place over the last four years. It’s certainly going to be interesting stuff. At least we’re not living in Germany where you can go to prison for calling a politician fat! In South Africa it’s duuuh, they’re all fat – LOL

It’s becoming increasingly important to remain incognito online, when governments will imprison one for a meme,
joke, criticism, stated truth, medical fact or wrong political thought.
And just because they now hate freedom of speech and want to make an example of anyone, to cause fear and shut people up.

Hi James, only the lemons have the required very low pH to nail the bugs properly.

I can read music but my Ear is terrible at identifying pitch.
My friend plays guitar and has developed the skill of playing the notes on sax that he hears.
He can listen and play the same note where I have to read the sheet music and play.

Trying to work out ‘Woke Up Clipped’ via Audacity is taking me about an hour per 60 seconds of music.
That’s just to find the correct notes, and I still have to work out their exact timing.
The free MP3 ‘sound to notation’ SW came back thoroughly cluttered and totally unusable.
Now I play the MP3 note and match the note using a mini Yamaha keyboard before entering the note in Crescendo.

One tip I’ve realised is to first establish the bpm and set that correctly in the music notation program.
