Hi Guys, I’m playing a YAS-62 and trying to find the altissimo G#. Does anyone know the fingering for this note?
I’ve found the G and A works quite well, but the G# is proving difficult to sound.

Hi Mark, the Spooky track is Johnny’s latest version in his music catalog.
Shapiro & Middlebrooks.
Excellent value for money, clear sheet music and quality backtracks.

Hi Mark
I’ve been using the Vandoren Java Green and the Vandoren Blue Reeds. Numbers 2, 2½ and now 1 on the H2O MP.
I rinse my reeds after playing and store them in a plastic tube with a sponge soaked in Listerine,
so they last me many months.Funny story, our local shop had a special on the Theo Wanne Fire MP and as it was marked down I bought…[Read more]

Clearly a song written about Tax Returns should be written in Ab minor 😉

I bought the Theo Wanne Water MP out of curiosity as I couldn’t afford his metal MP’s. This is a construction change using A.R.T. plastic instead of metal at a very resonable price. I started playing it with a #2 reed and was impressed by the tone quality and it’s ability to play softly. Yesterday I tried a #1 reed and now I can play half as soft…[Read more]

It’s very simple to use, take the Eb disk for example. We move by three notes. There are three groups of four notes which we move around. The same colour block indicates the transposed note. If you are are transposing from piano (concert) to Eb sax you move in an anti-clockwise direction. If you are are transposing from Eb sax to piano you move in…[Read more]

Hi Johnny
Thanks for producing this most excellent ZZ Top tune.
It is a firm favourite of mine I had tried to work out a version of my own but without success.
When I received your email I just had to have a copy, and now I have.
Great stuff, and I love the energy of your performance.
Cheers Jeff -

Hi Johnny, thanks you for the feedback, it is most appreciated. You are correct as I have been forgetting the basics for a while and only been focussing on the tunes. I’d even caught myself not breathing from the diaphragm! I will certainly add some practice time on the long tones. One issue I have whilst recording is nervousness. It becomes a…[Read more]

Hi Jabber, there doesn’t seem to be anyone else listening who thinks it’s worth a comment.
I’ll give you the rest of eternity, and it may take me that long to sound half decent.
