I put two pressure plates in the bell of my tenor and the sax sounded more in tune as my yamaha tuner indicated. Overall sound was richer. Thanks for the tip SXPOET

Some time ago Johnny introduced a tone booster that fit on the rear of the mouthpiece. I never heard any more about a tone booster. Yesterday I ordered a brass tone booster for my fat boy, size 2, from Danny Hofmann. We’ll let you know how it works out

Re: “Tramp”; I don’t have any sheet music etc for the “Groove”. The guitar is playing in “C” so I”m blowing in “D”. Guitar starts on the G note and I start on my A. Guitar plays G, Bb B hammers on C so I try to do the same in D , Sax starts on note A…B…C C# D. Playing by ear. I can read the music but I can’t talk the music

Hey! Hey! Hey!
I have a battery powered Yamaha tuner, Tuner on my iPhone, tuners on the web, tuner on GarageBand. Microphone needed for the GarageBand tuner and for others. Since I’m tone deaf one more tuner might help. What I really need is a conductor standing in front of me like I had in Jazz band. All sounds great.

Thanks to Jake I have the mic in the right place and the gain on the pre amp about right; very very low. The other song I’m working on is Van Morison’s “Brown Eyed Girl”. Regarding “Brown Eyed Girl” the following info was sent to me:

I also favor the fat boy. I find the MBI mouthpiece takes a lot of wind. So I rearranged my music room. Do you ever use two mikes. I have a clip on condenser mike on order from Sweetwater. i was told by sweetwater to turn on the phantom power on my Pre Amp and turn off the phantom power on my audient 14 interface so I did.House members have…[Read more] - Load More
