Today I practiced with an Onyx soft reed with some of my mouthpieces the King, the Theo Wanne Durga 5, and the fatboy. “It’s Not Unusual” is today’s practice. I also added “Help Yourself” to the list. “It’s Not Unusual” is in the key of D major. “Help Yourself” is in Eb and later up a half step to E major. “Help Yourself” is another Tom Jones tune. My mouthpiece today is the “Fatboy”. I was using the “King” but today is the “Fatboy”.

Taking a break from “Europa”. Here’s the “Drinking Song” from the Student Prince

I’m playing around with “Europa”. Johnny wrote that the song is in A minor. c d e f g A minor, a pure minor, the Aeolian mode.In stead of just playing the melody notes I’ll try to mix in some modes, and Themes.FIRST THREE Chords are Am7 Dm7 G7. I switched back to my Guardala King mouthpiece. I find the King mouthpiece easier to blow. Less quivering with my mouth. Sound is more steady

Around 1997 I bought some sheet music in C major for piano vocal and guitar. It was “Let It Be” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney in a green cover. I was living in St Louis Missouri at the time.
