Nice mix Mike.your horns make a great sound. My house would go crazy if I attempt to blow Cissy Strut. So I’ll stick to Sam Cooke.

I’m counting out the beats for “Please Come Home For Christmas”. 8th note gets a beat, 6 beats a measure.Dotted quarter note = 1 2 3. Using a cut time speed. 1st measure Ding Ding (for 123 123). 2nd measure= Ding Da Dat DaDa) 3rd measure Da Dah. So first three measures go like this Ding Ding Ding Ding Da Dat DaDa Da Dah. Hope this makes sense

Good tip James.I was having a problem going from the D.S. to the signal and continuing so I’ll go over those sections and trying to keep up with the backing track

Recording myself.
Good idea. I record myself 30 to 40 times a day every day on GarageBand. Right now I’m recording a song but I won’t post it until I get it right. I’ve been playing this song since 1996 but I usually mess up one or two notes before I get to the end. I have a backing track and I play along with the backing track. Well in about a…[Read more] -

Mike
I remember back in the years not knowing about baffles etc I showed up in Jazz Camp with a T-95 mouthpiece. The band leader who was head of Jazz studies at Webster college in St Louis almost kicked me out of the band

Thanks James. You are welcome to it. I played it in A major on the guitar. A major is for the Bb sax. So if I ever record it with my sax I’ll blow it in A major. The original published key is G major

Hi James
I’m looking at the link you sent,Anytune and Anytune Pro. I have a mac computer with garageband. I record on garageband. My set up is this: horn blows into my Microphone. Sound goes into my preamp on to my Audient interface into my computes’s garageband. (GarageBand looks like a simple Logic Pro). How does Anytune fit in? My Mac…[Read more] -

I do have some swing songs. On my music stand is a swing jazzy “Sweet Georgia Brown”. Quarter Note=176. Backing track is 176 BPM. Too fast for me so I can’t use the backing track. I’ll play it with no backing track
