Hi,
Glad to hear more vids to come.
On the 5 chord thing . I think it is just trying to listen to your comments, the playing and watch your fingers all gets a bit to much ๐ I think you need to slow it down once through and then do it again at normal speed for the slow of understanding.
Remember “you” understand all this and it comes natural now , the students don’t .
Thanks,
1. I was looking at you playing the in the 5 chord video and realise you are playing the other chords as well.
2. Numbering made sense to me after I studied it but the chart numbering and the 12 bar numbering you use in the video make it confusing I think. Just my 2c worth.
Are you going to do a video on the Solo analysis which you mention at the start of the solo video ? Without this I think the main objective of the course is missed. You set the groundwork and then just jump into a “look at me solo” section and to be honest we all know you can solo ๐ You have no info on using rhythmic patterns that match, any timing info or a structure to build solo/imrov from a basic level so I feel that you start the journey and then jump off and leave me standing alone.
The course seems to start well (basic theory) and then has a well lets get it done (part 2) and out there asap feel to it. I must say I am disappointed.
You probably need to use both . Minor on the I and V and Major on the IV chords I think is the way it goes.
The other thing to check with a new neck is that the octave key mechanism is the same and will match the body links .
No problem with waiting , just wanted to make sure I had not missed it ๐
Keep up the great work.
Hi,
I signed up for the altissimo but have not seen anything yet , have I missed something or has it not started yet ?
What does the guy keep putting in his mouth before playing ???
I have been playing for a couple of months and use a Yamaha 4c with Rovner which works fine for me. I used a #2 for a while but (at the recommendation of my teacher) moved up to #2.5 and have been experimenting with #3 reeds.
The harder reeds make the higher notes much nicer sounding and easier to hit and don’t seem to make the low notes much harder to get.
I think using the #3 is helping my breathing .
I think C# is the worst sounding note on my horn with all fingers off.
Thanks,
I get on with downloading it then ๐
