yeah, tru re cane… it makes a substantial difference, huge, that i dont have to take the reed off mp every dang time to get it wet, to play… i’m becoming a better sax player because its here on the stand next to me and i can just pick it up and play instantly. plus im even finally getting a growly sound (you motivate me a lot, ur growly tone…[Read more]

i like the copper carbon classic 2.5 best so far, likely need to retest onyx at harder 3.0 strength

these reeds made a substantial improvement in my playing, seriously 15-20%, which is a pleasant surprise. highs and lows are easier, and much better getting close to growling with these. i need to study the altissimo course again; these will help

thx, its https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-Cardioid-Condenser-Instrument-Microphone/dp/B000K67VG0/ designed for instruments, but yeah a bigger mic like shure/sennheiser etc likely better… any mic recomendations? you sound great
also i get much better easier to play long notes w hemp reeds

they are game-changers.. thx johnny for the heads-up. i was telling my teacher grace about them today. they are Shockingly great… and ive been playing for decades. its unfortunate that reeds make such a big difference, it would be nice if they didn’t… so having these is a huge plus. I’m getting a bunch of them.

thx for the recommendation on fiberreds, they’re great.
i held off buying for a couple years cuz normal plastic reeds really suck; i play vandoren cane
these fiberreeds are great, each has a very unique sound, which is terrificm eg muted vs bright
super since no need to take reed off mp and put in mouth before playing

when i first start playing, no problem, but after 1/2 hr both middle g/g# squeak all the time; driving me nuts.. any ideas?
tried diff reeds/mps; the only fix is if i loosen embouchure alot & press g key extra hard, which isnt practical .. pads are relatively new, didnt see any light leaks
