Yea G is a beast!
I play F# G# and A altissimo regularly on a live basis but the dang G isn’t as easy! Luckily most of my stuff is in F# {darn guitar player}. Lol. So I honestly don’t use G often. But need to keep at it for when I do need to!

IN my experience there really isn’t a mouthpiece that gives you that sound. I’ve played high baffles low baffles metal HR. Also mixed up reeds. Some def make ya a little buzzier but nothing like that video.

I hear ya saxmonica. I’m all for feedback that’s How we learn.
With just a guitar player and sax I find myself mixing it up. I play bass lines on sax to fill up our sound with my rhythm guitar player. Then I change gears to play lead solos. Def challenging finding the balance. And after 3 hours get pretty winded playing that way.

I like the idea of covers but as a performing sax player I really like the new stuff you are doing Johnny! That is the actual solos in these great sax songs! I’m actually working on born to run and am gonna add that to our setlist! Along with playalongs it would be great to add solos to these famous songs as well!!!!!!

I play in a classic rock duo. My buddy play Rythym guitar leaving me for all the leads on sax. Most of the songs we do don’t have sax in them so I spend a lotta time transposing.
We do songs like hotel California, brown eyed girl, keep your hands to yourself and of course sax friendly urgent and old time rock n roll!!! So much fun.
