No. I use my condenser mic usually about 2 feet away on a mic stand from me which is phantom powered through my audio interface. It’s an Akg 220. I use a Mac with reaper software for mixing. Took a little bit but now I have my settings saved so I’m always the same and can make small tweeks as needed.

Wow. That much of a difference between the mb1 and fat boy? Where in the world did you find that mp? I switch up every now and then but find myself right back on the fat boy. That’s one’s def my go to. Also suppose I’m the most used to it. Plays easy for me. Altissimo comes right out and it’s the best for my intonation. Lol.

I’ve noticed I occasionally get distortion/scratchy sounds. After playing a bit I have a wet mouth and there tends to get saliva on the backside of the reed. I take it off and wipe it down and it’s gone. Not sure if that may be an issue for ya??

Great recording!! I too am a synthetic carbon onyx user. Again, not for everyone but after years of various canes I love these things. I hated Legeres, stiff and horrible to me. I actually played on Fibracells before switching over. I am horrible to my reeds. Leave them on my horn on the stand. Pick em up and go when I play. After a couple…[Read more]

Nice James. I’ve found the vocal processors I’ve played with work well with sax. The guitar pedals not so much. I use a boss ve-20 and play around with a vocal 300. Tons of options on those devices. I really only want to add some reverb and a lil delay. Does the mic mechanic have both of those? Def a nice option for keeping it compact!…[Read more]

I recorded with my iPhone and edited through filmora 9. I like filmora. It’s a 1 time price very reasonable not subscription based. Pretty easy to use. Check out you tube for help as well. Works for what I want to do with videos and music.
