Morning folks. I tried really hard Yesterday to give Jeff some feedback. Rather than just sticking to the topic, I tried to convey a phonetic method for learning rhythm patterns.
I tied myself in knots. The more I thought about it, the harder it became. Not an easy tune to use as an example. ” Three blind mice ” would have been better.,.
Well done…[Read more] -

So, without software, drum machine just memory. I’m determined to make this rhythmically correct. Its been a long long time since I’ve had to do this. To say I’m rusty would be an understatement.
I’m going to use the ” old terms” ( crotchet , quaver, etc ) rather than the more modern system of whole note, half note ( minim ), quarter note (…[Read more]

Well, I just took a look at the various sheet downloads. Musescore do a ” kinda”…..
Various others do lean toward a minim based structure. Hey….I tried my best. The important thing is that you keep at it Jeff…

That was an afternoon well spent. Apologies once more for the error. The chorus ” shine on ” is crotchet: dotted crotchet quaver ( x2 )…..shine on you crazy \ crotchet triplet…( diamond ).

Dependant on how it is written, the shine on could be a half note ( minim ); followed by a eighth note ( quaver ) etc. I’m going by feel.

OK, I’ve given it a couple of listens and will try my best here.
Firstly Jeff, well done for choosing a great tune.
It really is not an easy tune to pull off; which brings me to my first point.
If you could construct even the most basic backing track; just a keyboard holding down the changes and providing the root bass note of each change, it…[Read more] -

Hi, and a Happy Mothers day to your respective Mums.
So, the start of another working week and I’m feeling good. ” Working Week ” were a late eighties band. Made up of session guys; does anybody remember their one hit ” Thought I’d never see you again ” ??
