Thank you so much for the very kind words Saxomonica truly means a lot.
I have a couple more songs I plan on posting where I had to use other backing tracks that weren’t available on Johnny’s site, and had to figure out the fingering on some of them to make it fit the track and timing. I prefer Johnny’s backing track as they are the higher…[Read more]

Hennie,
Yes on the synthetic reed. I’ve used the ones Johnny has on his web site ” The FIBEREED CARBON ONYX” ( Medium, and Medium soft) I also use the LEGERE Signature series Synthetic reed # 2. What I like about them compared to the cane reed is that you can pick the sax up and just start playing without having to pre-wet the reed. I know that

Very Nice Keith And congrats on your wedding anniversary. Great job on the playing.
I had the same issue on the back ground track vs my playing on this album I’m recording for my parents, about 8 songs. The studio that is recording me, on the first few songs had me pretty much just barley out in front of the back ground track. I asked them to…[Read more]

Gary,
As far as reeds are concerned Johnny has a lot of information on reeds, https://www.howtoplaysaxophone.org/fiberreed-synthetic-saxophone-reeds/. Just this past week I switched from cane reeds ( RICO # 2 ) to the Fiberreed CARBON ONYX Medium Soft, and soft. I bought them from here on Johnny’s web site. His turn time is awesome on getting…[Read more] -

I sure couldn’t do that with a cane reed with out soaking it for 5…[Read more]

I use a Berg Larsen 110/2 On my “The Martin” Tenor sax and I love the sound I get from it. I was wondering if anybody here has used a Berg on an Alto sax, and if so what sound your getting from it. I know the sound depends on a lot of things mainly yourself. I just bought a new “Kenny G” Alto sax with a silver bell and silver neck and was wanting…[Read more]
