@Jake, we recorded 5 long Years before I found my Guardala setup and before I had a Mark 6. I think I was blowing on a Berg Larsen with Rico Royals on my Mark 7. The Mark 7, even tho it doesn’t feel as good as the 6 still has the edge on tone and even tho I don’t use it much I still have it. As for playin a sax solo instead of the guitar solo…are you nuts! It was Colin’ band not mine. Actually, when we played the song live I did play the solo with him, taking the 2nd guitar harmony.
@Michael, actually Micheal, the type of music that we did with Colin right from day one was jumpin swing with rock and roll. After a couple more pop records we did “Colin James and The Little Big Band” which was a throw back to that early rock and roll, jump, swing stuff from the late 40’s early 50’s. So, ya, when I took a break from touring with him I formed “Johnny Ferreira and the Swing Machine” which also played mostly that type of stuff. But we certainly played a lot of it with Colin too, and he actually turned me on to some cool stuff from that era as well.
