Hey Johnny,
I’m trying to purchase Blueberry Hill and I’m not seeing any place to enter my card info. All I see is a button on the bottom that says ‘Purchase’ and when I click on it, a message pops up that says my e-mail is already in use. There’s a PayPal logo on the page and I click on the logo, but nothing is happening. There’s also a button…[Read more] -

Thanks for the insights Pete, very cool ๐ Did you send me a message a couple months back asking about the Sax lines for ‘Spooky’ in Tenor Sax? I have the Sax lines if you need them. Yeah, my doctor told me to give myself time from the TMD disorder/oral surgery….easier said than done to wait. But I’m feeling awesome and have no pain or anything,…[Read more]

Hi guys,
Hope everyone enjoyed time with your family ๐ I was pulling my Sax stuff out and was curious to hear from members about the Fiber Reeds. How do you feel about them vs Cane Reeds? Seems like they might help with practice time and consistency vs looking for a good Cane reed/caring for it? How do they sound to you vs Cane Reeds? The…[Read more]

That’s so cool to hear Johnny is gonna release Blueberry Hill! Should be a great one for the Saxophone for sure. What do you think about this Fats Domino song ‘I’m in Love Again’ for the Sax? Has a great solo from Lee Allen. So much of Fats Domino music is perfect for the Sax ๐

LOL Yeah, pretty funny to see him walk off like that. If I remember the movie correctly, something traumatic happened in his life/band and the Sax player he’s playing within this scene reminded him too much of his friend (in the flashback) on the band who was his Sax player–so he kinds of snapped and walked out.

@William LOL you noticed all the fly fishing stuff ๐ Yeah, I was taking advantage of the downtime I was dealing with to build that blog/website. I started doing that about a year or so ago for just Largemouth Bass, but I was getting a huge response from people wanting me to expand on other species. So I changed the domain name with updated…[Read more]

Hey guys!
Michael Bishop here. It’s been a little while since I’ve posted anything. You may recall I needed Oral Surgery to recuperate from my Oral Surgery/TMD disorder. I started playing again sometime after the surgery, but my Orthodontist strongly advised me to back off and give my Oral Cavity some time to heal. I haven’t had any problems or…[Read more]

Talking about different cultures–here’s a quick video me and my son did a few weeks back(this is non-saxophone related) and uploaded it/shared it to facebook with our state Game and Fish Dept.. They asked me if they could put it on their home page and it got over 5,000 views in 1 day on facebook! A couple of days later they messaged me and asked…[Read more]

I think it’s just the outdoor world and music world are 2 totally different cultures–different social media sites work great for different things. I know of some folks who put up a lot of fly fishing stuff on youtube and do really well v.s. others who just use different social media platforms and are doing awesome.

Might be good to put the Vimeo links here on your site for those 2 songs? Vimeo/dailymotion doesn’t get as many views as youtube, does it? I know for my new work in fly fishing for bass, etc. that I do (shared the website with you a few months back) I’ve gotten a ton of views from folks on twitter/linked to facebook, rumble.com, etc. without even…[Read more]

Hi Johnny,
The nerve of youtube….they blocked 2 of your Beatles videos “I Feel Fine” and “A Day in the Life”. I don’t understand why they would block those 2 songs in particular and not the other 2 songs? I Feel Fine was my favorite Beatles Sax song too! Have you uploaded it to Vimeo? Don’t think there’s ever been copyright claims, etc.…[Read more] -

Yeah, I had a mental lapse of sorts when I put that post–your website always sends us purchase confirmation/download links to our e-mail, so I have everything I need to back up my files right in my own google e-mail inbox. No rush–If I remember I think I had actually bought Yakety Sax and Mack the Knife before your website got updated, so it wouldn’t be there. I wasn’t sure how the system worked if there were other things we had bought before that carried over to the new website, etc.. I was just working on backing up everything on a flash drive, don’t wanna loose…[Read more]

Hi Johnny,
I was looking at my recent purchase history, the only thing showing is for a purchase on June 14, 2015 for The Wanderer and Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You. I was trying to download “Yakety Sax” and “Mack The Knife”–was going to upload 1 of those 2 songs soon, never got around to downloading either of them. No rush or anything, when ever…[Read more] -

David Sanborn has got some cool stuff for sure–that song of Mapato is one of my favorites; nice groove ๐ I really like how Johnny mentions in the blog article on the Alto that we shouldn’t think that we have to play Tenor to get a good rockin’ Sax sound–have a look at the videos he attached with that blog article, makes the point loud and clear…[Read more]

Here’s the folks who I use–they have done several tracks for me and their work is very, very good–no MIDI sounding junk. They do most of their tracks with real, live instruments in a studio. His rates aren’t cheap, but the quality of the work is outstanding. The tracks they’ve done for me are songs from King Curtis, Junior Walker, Red Prysock,…[Read more]
