Hey Johnny!! I know that I’m just a beginner with the sax, but as a toekn of appreciation I have purchased the book and will try to figure out how to play Brown Sugar!! It’s the least I can do for all the help you’ve provided to me (and others) on your free website. I hope that all the other members will consider doing the same!
Also, sine “Urgent” is one of my fave solos, I’ve downloaded a DVD of Foreigner’s live performance, with Bobby Kimball (??) providing the sax solo….abso-frikken-lutely FABULOUS!!!
Best of luck with your book!
For some unknown reason I cannot reply on the Blog – Boots is phenomenol doing Yakkety Sax!! Unreal!!!
Some other good ones posted here bring me sweet memories as well….Urgent….Heart of R & R….and I’m sure there will be more!!
Beauty!!!
Hehe – well, I’ve recd my Rico plastic-coated reeds – for the first few minutes I liked them…but soon found that I still nicked the same edge/corner as with the canes reeds, but quicker!! LOL!
Maybe I need to file down my teeth….;>))

Are synthetic reeds worthwhile?? I cannot imagine that no one has yet come up with a better reed than the bamboo one….since I'm still getting that "nick" in every reed, every time I play (and then toss it away) I thought I might try the synthetic one…..suggestions/comments??
Sorry to hear about your accident, Rusty…hope the future bodes well for you – good luck!!
Yes, that song keeps going thru my miond, but it doesnt quite make it to my throat!!
I went to a function yesterday that was supposed to feature "The Sensational Hot Rods" and Tommy Horricks on the sax…..they never appeared at the alotted time….Tommy is my age and I used to go to high school dances where he played during the Stone Age!!
I guess he introduced me to Yakkety Sax way bacxk in the day….
I understand, Johnny….you're being busy and all! We (and I speak for all of us here) do appreciate whatever you do for us here – it's all good!!
And I can be patient…but pls remember that I'm 65 yo!!! How long can I wait???? Haha!
