yes but this one is a more custom/specialized trill that’s not trilling with a neighbouring note…
with my left hand I’m trilling G and A consistently while playing the diatonic written notes with the right hand.
play the notes as written which are dotted quarter notes; D#, E, F, F#.
while holding those notes for their full dotted quarter note…[Read more] -

yes most definately. especially when playing with a loud guitar player who is the lead/star guy which I did for many years.
screaming altissimo notes are a must!
I should tell you what Steve Berlin shared with me, I don’t think many people are aware of this…
while we chatted backstage about sax stuff we eventually got to reeds of course and he…[Read more] -

They hung out a bit in Vancouver and I spend the day with their bass player in our studio. we also did a show with them in London England and I got…[Read more] -

nice tone Rick, I really like it. that really long note is a tough one to maintain and keep in tune so we gotta force more air, then at the same time hold back the volume a bit to get that fading out effect. Think of the diaghragm as your volume knob.
I know it can be a little hard or even confusing to do those 2 things together but it must be…[Read more] -

nice Simon, I’m noticing some improvements in your tone…keep it up. When you practice try blowing VERY loud this will continue to help build your sound….more air! Also bite up on the mouthpiece just a little bit more. It may feel uncomfortable at first but then it begins to feel normal and this also helps build your tone.

Nice…your tone has become a bit fuller especially in that low register. I just listened to one of your recordings from almost a year ago.
Keep it up. you’re doing what I suggest everyone to do and that’s record yourself. the changes you’ve done in the last little while are paying off…reeds, mp, mic etc -
