đ I have every single release that Johnny has made available to buy in his Saxophone Music area (thanks Johnny for helping me recover those lost file too!) Out of every song that he has done so far, my favorite Sax cover of Johnny’s is “The Watermelon Man” I love them all, but that one song in particular is just AWESOME…especially the way he hits the very last note of the song. I only hope that, 20 years from now (if I’m still alive LOL) that I will be able to play his songs even 1/2 as good.

I can’t honestly say which one is my favorite!
Its such an incredible collection & to me the
best thing about the collection – is you can dip
into a range of songs from easy to play to
challenging pieces – which i hope to be able to
play later on!It depends on what takes my fancy and
as a part of escapism where it can take me!
These aren’t just songs these are different
worlds i can immerse myself in – they are
broad canvases to explore in – its what i
call a Beatle effect – they draw you in,
the surroundings around you change and
for a couple of minutes your mind is taken
elsewhere …February 24, 2015 at 2:57 am #13643AnonymousMusic is so like art.
I could walk in a art gallery full of noisy people,
stand in front of a massive painting,
concentrate, the noise in the room would appear to have ceased,
and the next thing i could see myself in 3d walking around in the painting,
looking at all the objects.i was crossing the road once at some stop lights,
and i noticed a car slowing down,
i got halfway accross and glanced sideways,
and noticed it was picking up speed,
then i realised i was going to be knocked doen,
so i started sprinting accross,
it was just like in the movies,
everything went quiet,
i could feel my body running,
bizarely what i saw was everything suddenly go into slow motion,
and it seemed like a lifetime getting accross the road,
then whoosh, i could feel the blast of air as it went past,
and suddenly everything burtst back into life,
The car stopped, and what happened was an elderly driver,
had panicked and hit the accelerator! The worst thing i’ve experienced, is going round to someones house,
to see an 18 year old with cancer,
then coming back a week later
to see them smiling at you behind a sheet of glass on a photoframe,
along with all the other photographs of past relatives.i could write a song .. and now you’re hiding behind some glass!
Of all the songs out there, most of the best ones draw on real life,
gifted people put their experiences into music, art – we relate to them.
If you want to improvise you need to know your subject you’re playing/looking at through out,
then you need to use everything at your disposal, all the tricks of your trade,
and then you can start playing round/altering … -
