      😎 Hey Johnny,
When you’re playing something that requires more use of Vibrato, songs like “Crazy” by Patsy Cline or “Blue Moon” by Ella Fitzgerald, 2 gorgeous saxophone songs for sure–how much pressure do you put on the reed when vibrating your jaw to get that vibrato effect? As I am working on improving this, it seems like I have the tendency to put to much pressure on the reed and it’s like the note almost gets “cut off” so to say v.s. getting a smooth, even flow. It’s challenging for me to vibrato smooth/even while at the same time keeping air supply coming from my diaphragm; but I really want to focus on this; it adds so much to playing the Saxophone.

Michael, have you reached the vibrato part of my ebook? Regardless, vibrato is a personal and subjective kind of thing. Some people like it heavy and some don’t. But if you’re cutting it off you’re obviously too heavy on it. and need to experiment a bit more. Listen to how it sounds from others and try to emmulate…I think that’s the best way to zero in on what to strive for….for the technical side of it reed the lesson in the ebook.
