Hey Johnny, you are rather quiet lately. I haven’t been receiving emails notifying us of new songs you have put together. Have you completed your altissimo course series? I am doing great on the altissimo range thanks to your course.
We’ll cheers for now

June 15, 2014 at 3:26 pm #12177Hey thanks for the post Reg.
I have had a very busy month or so with outside projects. I did post the other day about 2 new songs I’m working on and just started to get back on to those yesterday so you will hear something more on those soon.
I had hoped to get the last lessons for the altissimo course up my end of May but having failed that they are the next things I will concentrate on and they will be done very soon as well.
I wasn’t too worried about those last lessons lagging behind a little longer because there is so much there to keep everyone busy for a while yet. These last lessons are exercises using those new high notes you are learning and will help but only after full control of these notes is there.
Glad to hear you’re getting on with the lessons so far…keep at it, you won’t be disappointed!August 9, 2014 at 10:54 pm #12424Hi Johnny, this is just to say Howzit and we miss hearing from you. I am sure you are still very busy with your other projects which Is great for you. Take care and all the best with your projects, look forward to some more new songs from you.
Cheers
RegAugust 9, 2014 at 11:42 pm #12425Thanks reg, yes you will be hearing more from me soon as I am going to be able to devote some more time to the website projects as I love to do. That’s why I did the survey, to get a fresh updated take on what people are thinking about and how I should proceed in the best way possible.
November 12, 2014 at 11:25 pm #12999Hi Johnny, its been while since we chatted and I hope that everything is going well with you. Tomorrow I will be getting my new horn, yes, I will be trading my Juperter in for new Cannonball Vingtage horn so I am really exited. I love your Christmas repertoie that you are posting on your site and it so happens that I am also working on my own Christmas collection and your material is really helping me with that.
In the videos I got to see more of your studio layout but what I would like to know is how do you mic up your horn? I don’t see a mic in the picture nor do I see a clip on mike on your horn.November 13, 2014 at 8:13 am #13001I put up a mic near the camera which is several feet away. it faces away from my monitors so doesn’t pick up much of the backing track, I then can take this into Pro Tools and mix till I’m happy with all the levels. I also use some compression which really helps to make the sax “stand out”. Are you having a problem recording yourself?
November 13, 2014 at 1:34 pm #13006Thanks Johnny, I know that the position of the mic makes a huge difference and I have not experimented very much with mic positioning so that’s why I asked you where you place your mic. I will play around more with this over the weekend.
November 13, 2014 at 2:11 pm #13010a mic will have it’s “sweet spot” which you can find by blowing into it at different distances and angles. some mics wom’t pick up after you’re just a few inches away, some will. get to know your mic first.
December 26, 2014 at 12:55 pm #13308Hi Johnny, this to wish you and your family merry Christmas and wonderful new year. I have really enjoyed visiting your website through out this year and learned some new tunes as well. I found “Jingle Bells” to be the most challenging mainly because it has a fast beat and there are 3 key changes as well, but next Christmas I should have nailed. I also enjoyed the Altissimo course which has helped me tremendously. I really look forward to what you have planned for the new year. Take care and enjoy the holidays, regards Reg.
December 26, 2014 at 1:50 pm #13309Same to you, and thanks for your contributions!
