Hi Johnny and other sax people. Referring to “To Sir With Love” in the key of B. I seem to like a certain E note sharpened. In the 7th bar the notes are c# c# c# and E natural. I like to sharpen that E natural to an E#. In subsequent places in the music with a c#c#c# Enat I like to make that Enat an E#. Just my # preference. Cheers and Rock on.
Hey William, absolutley right. I think that note should actually have come out as a # since the chord over it is major.
it’s one of those things like in blues where the 3rd works both ways as a major or minor….. the minor giving us a more bluesy feel
they can both be used but technically in this case it should have been a major….good ears William!
