Johnny just had a quick flick through your 1st e-book
“How to play the saxophone” that i bought 14 months
ago to see if i’d covered everything. The only thing i
haven’t covered yet is vibrato!Looking back then i can remember thinking how hard
some of those exercises at the end of the book, now
they look so easy after 14 months!I bought the “Killer Blues” e-book at the same and
looked at it and thought at the time too difficult
i’ll put it on the back boiler until i’ve mastered the
1st e-book. Over the passing months i got the
“Killer Blues” book out everynow and then, and put
it back on hold – too difficult.Today i got the “Killer Blues” out flicked through the
whole lot, and everything fits in place – looks easy
now and makes sense.
So it seems i’m now finally in a position to try it out!cheers

i think i got caught up with the rest of everyone at the time, on reflection
looking back – i still think its one that people can start anytime they’ve
completed “How to play the saxophone” and not have to wait several
years before tackling providing they take their time doing it.
After completing it, i still practice the altissimo G & A every day but
don’t go any higher up! I intend to get “Altissimo Course” out again
and have another go at it – to get the rest of the higher notes. But like every musical instrument, playing the sax is like peeling an onion,
soon as you peel one layer off theres another one to look behind…March 3, 2015 at 2:16 pm #13701well said. next time you have a go at it increase your range one more half step at a time. once you can nail the G and A the rest shouldn’t give you too much trouble. and yes, staring the altissimo course does not have tom wait because as I’ve said before, it’s not just to help you gain control of that high range but it will help develop your technique and especially tone.
