In my study of “reading” music I came across a rendition of “The Way We Were” as recorded by Dave Koa and Vanessa Williams. The first 33 bars are in the key of “C” major for tenor sax. Re: the backing track. I can play the sheet music for “The Way We Were” but I can’t play the sheet music along with the backing track. I do better playing along with Dave Koz and Vanessa Williams and reading the music
