Here’s this week’s backing track for everyone to use as you like, “The Green Onions” in the version of Booker T and the MGs. I removed the organ from the main melody, as well as the guitar in the Improvising part of the song, so that we can play/improvise with the Sax. For Bb Sax players we’re using the G Blues Scale and Eb players we’re in the D Blues Scale with the standard 1-4-5 blues progression….it would be really cool to see someone do a Bari Sax cover of the Green Onions 🙂 This song is perfect to apply what Johnny teaches us from his book of “How to play Killer Blues”.
