Testing AKG C1000S – newer model

The last AKG C1000s i tested out was my teachers that is an older model with a 9v battery.
The one i tested today is the new updated model with 2 AA batteries.

This is the last test – just need to adjust the settings to remove clunking keys etc..

Hi Sxpoet, that sounds better! I noticed the clacking of the keys yesterday on my recordings too. I bought a stand so the mike can be up close to the horn. Now I suppose I will have to put some distance between the mike and the sax to lose the clacking sound. After listening to the quality of your recording I’m not so happy with mine, but you did spend 10x more on the mike and preamp/convertor so that’s to be expected. I stick it out for another year or so, then I’ll upgrade to something better when I can really play something decent.

Now when can we listen to your recording on altissimo overtones? Nudge nudge 😉 😉

That’s it for testing purposes – i can now go away and learn a piece and record it and share it.

ok – just started practicing the blues this week with a backing track in G provided by my teacher,
just got to start off simple playing the note chord note for each bar mainly G C and D.
Later on i’ll get into the whole chords arpeggio, then pentatonic scales etc..
a bit of altissimo G C & D, just having problems holding the altissimo C for the count of 4,
just practice at the end of the – i don’t play any music using altissimo, but i will
when i get further in the blues
