Way back around 1980 when the Rolling Stones put out their Tattoo You LP and I first listened to it I said to a band mate, wow, Bobby Keys has been practicing hard, never heard him sound so good.
then I looked at the liner notes and saw it was Sonny Rollins who played the tenor on all the tracks, Waiting on a Friend, Neighbours etc.
if you haven’t heard that album check it out and listen to how good Rollins sounds with them.
Thanks Johnny! My kind of music! I enjoyed listening to Waiting On A Friend and Slave! Yes – Sonny sounds good in these. They give credit to Sonny for these two plus Neighbours.
