Seriously if you have any problems specifically related to your sound, intonation etc.. the best advice i can give you, is visit a working pro – they will stand in front of you, they will run through various ways and find the ones that work for you. What mouthpiece, reed size, position of mouthpiece etc… that works well for one student probably will make things worse for you.
If you don’t see a pro – you’ll only end chasing everyones advice on different forums – the result you end up buying hundreds of mouthpieces, ligatures, Reeds etc – compared to the cost of visiting a pro is a huge difference moneywise.
The other annoying thing is, if you’ve developed bad habits, you have to unlearn them, and that can set you back weeks.
If you don’t want to spend time with a pro, then the next best thing is read books on the sax written by past sax masters.
