Hi Johnny,
as well as working on major/minor interval memory pattern positions for the past month i’ve got a stack of rhythm exercises which is going to last me the rest of the year and beyond
The rhythm exercises i’m doing are based on hands/ feet taping in time with a metronome for various timing & tempo issues .
Do you have/do or know of any sax related exercises in the style of your daily sax routine?
I haven’t asked my instructer yet as prefer him to spend his time getting me through my grade 3 work.
thanks sxpoet
Do you mean rhythm exercises? I including a few in my How To Play Saxophone eBook. I had some years ago but not now although this is a very important aspect of playing and should be included in daily practice. I know there are those that do it all by ear but IO always encourage to learn to read as you go. Teaching rhythm exercises migh be a bit more challenging when not face to face… we shall see!
Thanks for that Johnn!
Bouncing that off you, my rhythm exercises are sight/both hands/ feet coordinated,
in 2/4 3/4 4/4 6/8 etc .. with a metronome.
What i realize now, is i can devise my own exercises on the
sax transcribing the rhythm beats to simple sax pitches using loud and soft pitches to replace soft & loud beats!
fantastic – its great to bounce ideas off people of your caliber!
once again thanks
