Dazza – a couple of months ago , i bought a plastic jam jar, with a lid, filled the bottom with half an inch of listerine mint flavoured mouthwash, and filled it to the top with water.

MATE – i was skeptical at first as a lot of pro’s swear by it. I can tell you now i’ve never looked back. I take the reed out, wipe it with a cloth slap it on – and it plays perfect straight away, it also has more grrrowl on the low notes – definitely more buzz low down. The altissimo also comes straight out.

Whats even better i’m still using the same reed months later! The mouth wash kills any cold germs, stops the sax smelling inside, tastes nice on your tongue.

I’m definitely not going back to dry reeds – thumbs up from me.

The only downside – is you have to change the liquid every couple if weeks as it will get cloudy. The reed loves it man!

      Best trick i ever learnt!
