Quick update on Wayne/Me doing our duet

Hey guys,
I’ve gotten a few messages from Members interested in the Video Collab Wayne and I are doing, thanks for the encouragement guys! 🙂 🙂 It makes all the “pain” of video editing worthwhile LOL We are doing the song that I posted below. Wayne is a great drummer and gave me an mp3 file where he was drumming to the beat, he nailed it perfectly on the mp3. But we had some problems with the video side of things to get it to match….when you do several takes of your playing on one song, it can be difficult to remember which video you put aside for a specific mp3 file. Wayne is working really hard..this isn’t the easiest thing in the world to do. If we we’re on stage together, it would be a no brainer. But when you’re doing a video collab like this, with 2 people living in different parts of the US hundreds of miles away from each other (Wayne is in Chicago and I’m in Little Rock) then you have challenges to deal with that you normally wouldn’t have if you we’re on stage playing together…it’s meticulous editing and being just 1-2 beats off rhythm then the whole thing is toast.
We’re in the final stages of putting it together, hope to have it uploaded for you guys here within a week. Our member Wayne has worked VERY hard to make this work and he deserves the highest respect to say the least 🙂 It’s relatively easy when you’re on the Saxophone to play in the proper time with backing tracks and what….NOT so easy for the drummer. It’s 3-5 times as difficult to do. I, personally, have several Saxophone songs of Johnny’s that I’ve learned–thanks for your messages guys! :)–and I will be starting to do those very soon, but first I’m focused on finishing this duet with Wayne because it’s far more important right now. Wayne and I later throughout the year will be doing a few Saxophone duets together with him on Alto and me on Tenor, Johnny has some great stuff perfect for duets–editing 2 Saxophones for a collab is WAY easier than editing a Saxophone and a drummer..ouch! LOL Thanks again guys! 🙂 The encouragement is awesome. Will have this finished soon 🙂
