With reference to your new practise routine can I use my ipad to see it?
Also what price is it in sterling ( I live in UK) as it only shows dollars?August 22, 2014 at 10:53 am #12513it’s online on the site so to see the videos you just need to be online and registered on the site.
the payment goes thru Paypal so I suppose the conversion is done automatically.
to know the conversion rate just check online with a currency converter, they probably change daily but I just did one and it shows:
$20 USD is equal to 12.07 BPShope that helps

August 22, 2014 at 11:34 am #12514Thanks for that. I have now just purchased the Practise Routine #1. What happens now, do you send me an email or something so I can use it?
August 22, 2014 at 1:38 pm #12515Paypal redirects your browser straight to the page. If it didn’t do it or you missed it somehow just let me know and I’ll give you the direct link.
August 24, 2014 at 3:02 pm #12529Hi, I’ve started on the new Practise Routine #1 ( which is great) but would like to know if there is a reason why in exercise #2 you have written the descending B flat chromatic scale with flats only whereas in exercise #3 the same descending B flat scale is written with both sharps and flats ?
August 24, 2014 at 7:40 pm #12532Excellent question!! G# and Ab are inter changeable. When running a music copying program it will write whatever is technachaly correct for the key we input, but if we don’t do that then t writes it randomly. I usually will use #’s going up and b’s coming down but either way we should be aware and just know either one and not worry about if it’s # or b. I will always wwrite out an Ab major scale over a G3 major scale because the #’s just look a little more scary to read than the more harmless few b’s. It’s a personal preference which I believe is shared by many.
August 26, 2014 at 3:52 pm #12538AnonymousHey Johnny – just got your practice routine today!
Just watched all the videos in one go to get an overview!
Looking forward to starting it tomorrow!
I would certainly recomend it to everyone!
Just watching it i’ve already picked up some valuable tips
that i can apply to other work i do on the Sax!
I would go as far to say that no matter how long you’ve been playing
or how good you think you are, if you’ve got some niggles about your
some of the songs you play on the sax – then this is the course for you!
Get this under your belt, take your time & get it right & you can’t go wrong!
Once again – thanks for doing it Johnny!August 26, 2014 at 4:24 pm #12539Thanks, this is what most people asked for and since a lot here are in the beginning stages it’s tailored to that. But you’re right in that these are some of the most important basics that will help anyone.
We’ll give it some time and then bump it up a level so everyone can continue to progress.
Haven’t given it much thought yet but there will be a “Daily Practice Routine #2” so everyone who’s diggin into this 1st one keep at it every for the next couple months – make sure you record yourselves for a “before and after” this is so valuable to have…even if it’s for your ears only!September 3, 2014 at 5:02 am #12581AnonymousHi Johnny,
been doing the daily exerices for 2 weeks now!For me the 3 month period seems about right, When i do exercises 2,3 & 4 from memory, haven’t been able to increase the metronome speed yet until i get everything to flow & sound ok.
Don’t want to cheat myself!I found exercise 1 really useful in terms of where to position the reed on the mouthpiece. I noticed straight away i can’t get some of the 8 duck notes properly if it is slightly off!
So after a bit of re-positioning & getting all 8 duck notes to sound reasonable i’ve got no quibbles about the reed position when i attach the mouthpiece to the sax!
This makes a difference to the sax sound!Looking forward to a daily practice 2 when you get round to it! But please keep it to the same 30 minute routine as this fits in well with the other sax work i do everyday!
cheers
