PRACTICE: Do any of you play silently? Scales, tunes? Try it. A guy named Coltrain did it. You can hear your tune and scale. Yes, there are notes you don’t play. Don’t let it bother you. Give it a try. Tim

Thanks heap @Tim for the thumbs up mate
have been playing lately with no reed in practicing pushing my guts out as i breathe out
i keep the pressure constant, just slow the speed down sometimes – then back again
itz like using the volume control i guess?
later i can add some dynamics when i put the reed back in
i do the scales and songs Johnny has taught us – and try to hear them in my head
        silent daze / silent night
        silent read / reed
if i can intuitively hear the notes in my head before i play them i figure i am going places?
thinkin’ “we are what we think we are”
        “having become what we thought”
“where the mind goes the body follows”

again thanks heaps for some wonderful advice being from an old hand at acrobatics
        appreciate your sharing, you beaut
