Thank you for your explanation and clarifying. When my mouthpiece sits rite in the middle of my cork on the neck, the notes are perfect in tune with the tuner. I did the Bb trick and all notes are in tune with itself, so I guess my tenor is good from a mechanical standpoint. Guess I’m gonna blame the guitar player!! LOL.

      Thanks again everyone!

“a proper sax will be able to tune to A440”

What exactly does this mean? When I play notes, my tuner shows different frequencies. On the tenor, When I play the high B, the frequency shows 440Hz. Just looking for what this means?

ya 440Hz is right. I say A440 because the note “A” is what plays when you strike a tuning fork. this is the true way to know if you’re playing a real tuned note. all tuners are adjusted to this Hz of 440 the A just means the note A, you can say B440 etc but the tuning fork most available and used is for the note A so most of the time you’ll hear someone say A440.

Hopefully the guy is using a standard guitar tuner which clips on the neck as most of them are preset to 440.
