Pilgerstorter & Gonzalez Reeds?

I went down to my local music store and bought 2 boxes of reeds today (La Voz ms & Java 2), for every box you buy they throw in a free reed. So they gave me a Gonzalez reed & a Pilgerstorter reed! Does anyone use these reeds? and what do they think of them. The Gonzalez are very cheap and actually played quite well, but the Pilgerstorter was a bit hard going!

Am not familiar with those. If you’re one who likes to work on reeds maybe you can get the hard one softened up a bit?!

the pilgerstorfer reed product of austria, grown all round the world. The gonzalez reed comes from the andes. I’ll try the pilgerstorfer reed again tomorrow, sometimes they can change for the better after a few days, not holding my breath though. Thats the trouble with picking reeds out of an opened box! Most people look at them and put them back.
