Randy from the southern border of Texas here. Played Cornet in band about 30 years ago and recently got the bug to learn sax. Bought a cheap learner sax which is all I could afford at the time and have not had a problem making a sound or playing the scale C to middle C and then on up to next C. Not saying it sounds pretty or consistent but I am learning.

I look forward to a lot of fun with the sax and stepping up to a better model when money allows.

Hi Randy, as long as the horn is in good working order you should be fine for a while, I would be more concerned with the mouthpiece and reed at this point.

I actually just received a new Meyer 6 medium with new ligature and am using 2 1/2 reeds.

Thanks for the response. I am looking forward to lots more fun. I love learning.
