      Hi-

I have been learning sax on my own for a couple of years, now. I am looking forward to visiting this site to learn from such a proficient and talented musician such as Johnny. I know that only my lack of persistence will hold me back because I have invested in what might be considered pretty good alto saxes as well as a nice 1960’s Vito Tenor, though I tend to concentrate on the altos because of breath limitations. I have a Conn Naked Lady and a Yamaha YAS 62 (purple logo) and a few mouthpieces including a Selmer C*. I need to work on technique to be able to be more expressive with the sax as I can play several melodies of standard and pop songs but lack the skills to add runs and such. Hope to learn from Johnny and other members’ questions and input. Thank you!

Good for you Greta… on the blog there is a post called “Saxophone Sheet Music” and at the bottom of that post a link to a video lesson about how to add embellishments to a piece of very simple music to make it more interesting etc.
        check it out!
