This happens to me a lot when playing sheet music – some sheets have lots of repeat sections, including dc al coda etc..

i’ve played along to a backing track, and in an orchestra and lost my place in the 2nd repeats and the jumping to a different part of the music sheet.

SIMPLE tip that a lot of pro’s do , just get hold of two or three different coloured high light markers and mark out separate pairs of colours so you can see where to JUMP FROM and where that JUMPS TO on the sheet.

I’ve had sheets where i had to use four different colours, just to keep track

ya good point. the “road map” is one of those things we need to go over and really work out so we don’t get lost. very important, jut like clapping out the beats etc. the coda’s, al coda’s etc always threw me of, even tho their concept is super simple.
