just spent an hour going up the sax in major intervals 2 (Bb/C, B/C#, C/D…) and then
going up the sax in major intervals 3 (Bb/D, B/D#, C/E…) never realised how difficult it
is moving up & down in intervals, apart from octaves, minor 2nd intervals & major 7
intervals.
it’s all in the mind. there is no difficulty with those specific finger positions, the difficult part is realizing what the next note is… that’s why we should practice and know the scales very well.
i find it easier to go up in maj 2nd interval steps like Bb/C, C/D, D/E but
seems harder to go up chromatically and play each matching 2nd interval.
likewise doing it with maj 3rd intervals. Like you say – just practice. lol
