Says Google, Pulling the mouthpiece out on the neck will make the shorter notes like A and above less sharp (flatter) more quickly than it will lower the notes G and below. The end result is a balancing of the shorter and longer notes on the saxophone.
Has anyone noticed how the low D# on altos is quite a bit flatter than the rest of the note range?
I checked both my YAS26 and YAS62 altos and they both show this symptom on the tuner.
I can’t compensate sufficiently to bring the note in tune.
