      Hi Johnny,
I had learned Baker Street a few months back in D major, the original key, and shared it on a pretty crude video with Mr. Baker sometime ago LOL as Baker Street is his favorite Alto Saxophone song. So I started learning your Baker Street Instrumental today, and I gotta say that there’s something about the feel of this song in the key that you use which, I think, sounds and feels even better than the original release in D Major. How did you come up with the idea of using a different key for this song? I ask because I read some posts on your video on youtube from folks who commented on it, virtually everyone love it but there seemed to be really strong “advocates” of playing the song in it’s original key LOL
After learning your Baker Street Instrumental in this different key, I may upload at some point in time Baker Street in D Major like I originally learned with obvious improvements I can now make v.s. when I first learned it. But in starting to work on this song for the Alto, I actually prefer your Instrumental in this key of G Major over D Major. Right from the first few measures, there was just something about it that felt just right; it’s kind of hard to pinpoint exactly what it is that makes it feel better in G Major like you wrote v.s. D Major in the original release. Hats off to you for sure on this one! 🙂

Thanks Michael. I’ll change the key if the original sucks for the both alto and tenor. For Baker Street, taking it up a semi tone put the tenor in F and alto in C instead of E and B.
