JF….friends. Is it all good ? GOOD !!
My apologies for my absence of late. Not for any other reason that I’ve been busy , busy , busy !!!
Doing four hours solid each day ( working on weak points ).
Right now, today, I’ve been playing patterns moving up the horn diminishing in volume as I do so. I’m always preaching about pushing from the pelvic floor. Got into a bad habit of sitting whilst practicing. As if that’s not bad enough, I’ve been crossing my legs.
If that doesn’t crunch up your diaphragm …lol !!
Seriously, got to get back into standing practice.
My arm has been fully functional ( or as close as its ever gonna be ) for a while now. Back to the old standing sessions.
Some bad news. I got ripped for a vintage Berg. I trusted a transvestite….seriously !!
To trade this Berg for an Aaron Drake, custom ceramic bari mpc. Big $$. I sent the Berg, and got a cracked up mess in return….six weeks later..
I eventually just exposed the rip and took down my FB page for the last time. I MEAN IT !!
I guess I did well enough. Got my stunning 10M off of there, my Grassi bari also, but yeah the rip really hurt. Michael Bishop, saw your name around the sax groups man.
So what else….oh yeah…bari. I haven’t been giving it enough action. A guy I know fixes horns in Paris said a few months back….” Ade, that 10M will steal your heart, the bari will get dusty “… lol !!…he wasn’t wrong.
So, from tomorrow one day tenorsax, next bari ( with a half hour tenor finish. Man, I do love this 10M. Using the fifties Berg with a hard reed, sounds like honey ..)
So….how many bari players do we have on the forum ??

Final thing, a weird one !!
Rehearsal the other night. I’m standing, listening to the guitar players argue as to whether it in F or D , and I glance at the bookshelf.
Whole row of music books, piano, guitar, violin , theory etc. I pulled one out at random as it looked like a kind of fake book but without the obvious standards.
Asked if I could borrow it and passed back a set list that had marked a page. The page ….” Violets for your furs ” !!
Couldn’t believe it. The guy had never heard the tune, just a random slot. Some great tunes…” Stars fell on Alabama”….” Polka dots “…
