House of the Rising Sun made me think about this one….

Johnny’s Sax cover of House of the Rising Sun is great to say the least. His Sax cover made me think about maybe doing this great song, what do you think? I hear more of the Tenor Saxophone with this song v.s. the Alto..it could sound cool on the Alto too.

Hey Michael – you come accross a song that gives you a buzz? then go for it man! No need to ask opinion man! Any song that gives you a buzz, you will psychology play even better than other songs! Also you will have more fun, when you have fun, song is even easier and faster to learn. This has a knock on effect, it will improve your in tune playing, your measure timing, and your fingering! Which in the long run is better than playing a boring song over and over and not noticing improvement!
Positive thinking – bottom line – i would love to hear you cover it! you will suprised with the results!

Yeah, this song has a feel/rhythm that I think would sound good on the Saxophone–I’m not specifically asking for anyone’s opinion and that dictates whether I do/don’t decide to play something…it ultimately comes down to how it feels to me. But I do like sharing/passing ideas along to others.

great tune I love it too. it’s one of those that totally gives you that 60’s feel and has been used in many movie sound tracks for that very reason I think.

That’s cool Johnny how you mentioned that 60’s groove/feel, I couldn’t quite put the finger on how to describe it LOL I think it makes fantastic Saxophone music, certainly beats a lot of today’s modern stuff. That was cool how you did House of The Rising Sun on the Saxophone, never even would have thought about that song, don’t know if anyone even would associate it with the Saxophone and I’m going to start learning it soon, but it made me think of this song I shared here. I’ll start my uploads again as soon as I get the recording situation fixed…some of the guys I’ve started to play with highly recommended the following mic, and I wrote it down the AKG P220 Vocal Condenser Microphone, because I was told it was very inexpensive and it would last me for quite some time to come and it was designed for what I do. I put a link for it down below from Amazone. My problem has been technology–not my “best friend” by any means LOL We’re moved into our hew house on Nov.1 and you’re autographed pic is going on the freshly-painted walls 🙂 I’ve put quite a bit of $ into this house.
