I”m looking forward to Johnny’s new upcoming release, “Help Me Make It Through The Night” written by Kris Kristofferson while sitting on top of an oil rig/platform. Kris was a Rhodes scholar at Oxford University where he studied English Literature. After graduating from Oxford University he pursued song writing. He joined the military and was a captain and he flew helicopters. He continued writing songs like “Sunday Morning Coming, “Me and Bobby McGee”, “For The Good Times”. In 1985 Kristofferson joined Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Cash and formed “The Highwaymen. Kris passed some music tapes on to Johnny Cash and to get Cash’s attention Kris landed a helicopter in Cash’s front yard. Kris was an outlaw and member of the Country Music Hall of Fame
wow, there’s some things there I wasn’t aware of…thx William! Should be getting that one up either later today or tomorrow…
hey Pete, way to go on recording yourself and thanks for sharing.
The good news is you’re sounding nice AND playing all the right notes…
the bad news is you are out of sync with the band….sometimes as much as several beats off.
I would recomend to practise counting first and then try to play the music.
the way to practice counting along with the track is to focus on the beat keeper which is the drummer.
you can also reference my recording and pay close attention to which beat the notes come in on as you count
thanks John, yea i know i am way out sometimes thanks for the advice gotta keep at it.
coupon not working or i missed something?
Hi Simon, I took it off soundcloud wasn’t happy with it will do it again
Thanks
So the household doesn’t want to hear “Take The Ribbon From My Hair”. No more. I have to play a song over and over to get it right, counting the notes. I don’t hear a drummer. 1st note or rest in each measure gets the down beat. I have to hum or sing the song to get it right. So I switched songs going from a scale variation of My Old Kentucky Home to Jennifer Rush”s “The Power Of Love”.
