Hi I live in ireland and have just got my first alto sax I play a number of other stringed instruments which I have learned on my own. I think this being a reed instrument might be a bit more tricky I have in the first day managed to sound out a few bars of “the falling leaves” sometimes sounding quite good but will have to work on that, hope this is a good place to come if I need some advice thanks. yes Marie you can get all the advice you need here. personally I always had more trouble with stringed instruments so we are all different. once you get to blow out your first notes you’ll be well on your way and your knowledge of music from your other instruments will help you a lot.
