went in a charity bookshop today, and walked out with a book called
“Methode Complete de Clarinette” by H. Klose printed 1964,
which takes you from beginner stage right up to virtuoso standard.

Got it mainly out of curiosity to see what they do on the clarinet,
similar to the sax in terms of learning the clarinet, not that i
have any intention of learning the clarinet.

280 pages of practices, no songs in at all (not even london bridges),
The first few pages show how to play the different notes on the clarinet,
and the 1st exercises went straight into long tones (can you believe that),
then the next exercises was the chromatic scale.

It is divided into 5 volumes, the 1st volume covers articulations, expressions,
ornements & arpeggios. unbelievable was written by someone in the paris
orchestra – absolutelty staggered by the amount of execises and only a few songs at the very end.

in terms of exercises, you could fit the altissimo course in a few pages, and this book
280 pages of exercises just goes on and on in technical exercises, unbelievable some
      of these old books!!

        Hi, Jimmy…
Hyacinthe Klosé was a 19th century french clarinetist and teacher at the Conservatoire de Paris who wrote a method for saxophone as well. Much the same as that you’ve found for clarinet.
Make a Google search and you’ll probably get several links to download it. Any sax book for beginners has excersices taken from Klosé’s works.
