It’ll start with an easy approach to improvisation in general using just a note or 3.
Then we’ll have some fun taking a look at Jr Walker’s Shotgun.

I have the music in the Key of Bb, Most of the music is in the upper range, not the altissimo, just the upper range and the music sounds bluesy

I confess i mighta been punching above my weight when i filled it in, me good bro’s and swing sisters in saxophonic land..
Upon recollection it may be seen that i haven’t got a really good handle on the palm key notes as yet, ‘eh.

Hello all ..

I seem to recall hearing or reading that JUNIOR WALKER was performing at a club and noticed that people were doing a new dance that they were calling “The Shotgun”. So Junior decided to write a song about it .. and presumably one that people could do the dance to too!!
Consequently the song also mentions other popular dances of the day such as “The Jerk”, “The Pony” .. and .. right on the end .. “The Twine”.
