John just posted this tune and I had to give it a go, I needed a break from Smooth Operator (for some reason the solo in that song just defies my fingers). I had to get a “pro” subscription to Soundcloud cause I out of available download space, it comes with a “mastering” option, it sucked but I can’t figure out how to turn it off! So here’s a link to the Soundcloud mastered version which killed all the mid-ranges in the tune.
Stalk me up, Sax Daddy! ♥
Liked it Mike, well done.
Great job
Thank you gents! I’m going to replace that version with one I mastered. Get those midrange tones back. Hope you all are doing well!
Wow! Mike excellent work as usual…great tone keep them coming
nicely done Mike. which mouthpiece? it would lve nice to compare just in case you upload something with the new one you’ll be getting soon! a new mp is always exiting
Thank you! I used a West Coast Sax “soul machine” mouthpiece on this recording. It’s similar to an MBII with a bullet shaped baffle.
John, I was looking at the fiber carbon fat boy mouth piece but the link to get pricing doesn’t work. Are you still selling them?
Yeah new stuff is FUN!! I’m taking my Mark VI for a checkup this week. It’s been playing really stuffy, I recorded this on my Eastman 52nd St tenor. Really nice playing sax, big sound like a king but with really easy playing action. My only complaint is altissimo is more difficult to play than normal, lol, not that I was consistent hitting altissimo in general. All the shipments I had coming have been delayed due to the Silverado fire here in CA. We were ordered out of our area on Monday, what I was hoping to get today is delayed till further notice. But I did take my horns with me when we packed up and left!
